Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Butterfly found by my wife on the cement of the carport and she placed it on a board. The temperature was 0°C with about a meter of snow on the ground. It had been a few degrees above zero the previous two days. I never took a close look, depending on the camera to get a good photo. The flash acted up and the first one was the only decent photo taken at the time. It never spread its wings for me, but my wife said it was orange. I could not see any antennae in the photo. When I returned home later, it was still in the same location so I got the better, second photo. The temperature had risen to 2.8°C. Still could not get it to spread its wings.
