'Northern' Southern Hairstreak
Satyrium favonius ontario

Observation date: May 21, 2014
Submitted by: Tommie Rogers
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I saw this Hairstreak sitting on the floor of my garage near the door. I didn't recognize it as a butterfly because it was so small and I did not have binoculars. I tried to make it fly outside. It flew, but I didn't see where it went. I assumed it flew outside. Later I relocated it in my garage window. It was deceased. I mistook it for a White-M Hairstreak when I photographed it.
