Observation notes: fairly large butterfly about the size of a cabbage white, yes its worn but has good markings on the underside. high mid sixties clear sky's in dry area of crooked creek about a half a mile past research center. aspens in area changing color fast due to cool nights, dropped a lot of leaves in two days time. lupine, paintbrush. sage brush. limber pine and bristle cone pine, thistle, asters, golden bush? large yellow flowering shrub. also in mono co by just a couple miles.

Coordinator notes: What a wreck and hard to ID! I have taken September Blue Coppers at Saddlebag Lake in the Tioga Pass area. This is a little known species in the White Mts and is likely subspecies austin, a subspecies that also occurs east of Tioga Pass-Ken Davenport
