Coordinator notes: Silvery Checkerspot has a dark hindwing margin with no (like this sighting), or very light, white chevrons. Gorgone Checkerspot, the suggested id, usually has very distinct white chevrons in this area. There is a difference in the orange pattern on the upper wings as well. Compare photos of the two species on BAMONA. SAT
