Observation notes: Seen on either a maple or aspen tree in River Edge, NJ. Busy street, also found additional sacs looking like the large "tail" hanging off the back of this caterpillar. It climbed up the tree from the ground to over 6 feet above ground. Relatively fast, the climb took less than 7 minutes. Sunny, 90 degrees and humid for weather conditions.
