Five-spotted hawkmoth
Manduca quinquemaculata

Observation date: August 28, 2014
Submitted by: Takoda
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: It has been very rainy the past couple of days here. Over 5 inches in the past 2 days. This particular moth does not have antenna. The mid-legs appear to have a spike at the mid joint. It has yellow spots rather than pink, I cannot determine if it is a Pink Spotted Hawk Moth or not. It is right next to both Moonflower and Morning Glory plants, however.
