Observation notes: Over the last week I have observed several of these caterpillars on Butterfly Weed in my garden. I believe them to be Milkweed Tussock Moth caterpillars. I have only seen them on hot, sunny days. They are usually on top of a leaf. They do not move when plant is disturbed.
