Canadian Tiger Swallowtail
Papilio canadensis

Observation date: June 20, 2014
Submitted by: BOGwalker
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Is this P. glaucus? It seemed very large for P. Canadensis, our usual species, and the underside wing margin looks more like glaucus to me.
Status: Resident
Verified by: Tom Middagh
Verified date: June 25, 2014
Coordinator notes: This may be a hybrid. It has the thick black inner margin of P. Canadensis but has the yellow underside margin spots of P. glaucus but that may just be the lighting of the pic. The larger size would also lean towards P. glaucus. I think it is a large female P. canadensis
