Observation notes: Observed two specimens, one approximately an inch long and one slightly smaller, throughout the day visiting thumbelina zinnia in deck planters. Four wings total: two horizontal and two angled vertical. Furry head and thorax, clubbed antennae (black and orange), long proboscis dipping in and out of flower, large dark eyes. Fast, darting flight pattern. The pair frequently chased each other around planters. Warm, slightly humid day, partly to mostly sunny, approximately 80 degrees F.
