Observation notes: Butterfly was on a fairly large boulder across a stream I could not cross and backlit. I thought by the size it was a Juniper HS but when I began extensive editing I realized it was a Johnson's! We've only seen one previously near Lake Tahoe in a Pine Forest along a tiny creek where the field guide says it 'should' be. The only trees we remember were Sycamores along the stream. The colors have been extensively altered by my editing the image to 'pull out the features' while retaining the orange spots, etc.
