Ceraunus Blue
Hemiargus ceraunus

Observation date: October 29, 2023
Submitted by: zencoyote
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: In a riparian corridor between two small grassy meadows, among transitional flora (grading into chapparal) this individual was observed among sage and thistle in an area partially shaded from late afternoon sun. It was clear, and a Santa Ana wind was beginning to dry things out. The individual was quite active, and would not settle down for better pictures. I wasn't able to identify it until later when I examined the photo in detail. In the field, I incorrectly assumed it was a Marine Blue.
