Melissa Blue (includes Karner Blue)
Plebejus melissa

Observation date: June 25, 2022
Submitted by: Allison Barta
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Stormed the night before, very wet grass & garden. overcast from the storming. walking across my lawn about 20 feet from my big flower garden when I saw a flick of bright blue come up from the wet grass. It passed me and landed in the grass closer to the garden. Snuck up on it and couldn't believe what I was seeing. A Melissa Blue far from its usual habitat like about 5-6 hours farther north than you would expect. IS THIS A RECORD - North sighting for Minnesota?
