Coordinator notes: Jim, this Desert C-S ID was my error and I am now in a position to set it right. Here is my analysis: 1) white mark in FW apex is a tiny freckle rather than a full dot. 2) the FW and HW marginal white marks are all feeble freckles rather than full dots. 3) the FW fringe shows narrow black elements alternating with wide white elements. 4) the HW median white patch lacks a black vein. This is Common/White C-S all the way. My earlier ID was an error, possibly a grievous error, but onward we go. Keep looking for that Desert C-S.
Jim, this one has the F apical dot, so Desert Checkered- Skipper a good find! next time you are out among the C-S crowd, try to get some ventral shots. I know they are not always on offer, but they are much easier for the identifier (me!).
