Observation notes: Along a short reach of the Rio Grande, many American Snouts migrated between 08/09-11/05 2021 to take nectar from whorled/horsetail milkweeds and purple-flowered asters and to shelter in coyote willow and tamarisk tall shrubs. In the two years prior to 2021, I had observed only a single individual in this same river reach. Generally, the 10 days documented were warm-to-hot, mostly sunny, and breezy-to-windy.
