Lesser Maple Leaf Blotch Miner Moth
Phyllonorycter lucidicostella

Observation date: July 21, 2021
Submitted by: tirvine2020
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Reared from Acer saccharum. Larva made a lower surface tentiform mine. The mine was rather large, only bounded by large veins. Frass is deposited in a clump on one side of the mine. The mine was found on 7/10, and the larva was still active on 7/14, but it had pupated by 7/18. It emerged this morning, 7/21, the pupal exuvia poking out through the lower epidermis of the mine.
