Coordinator notes: Not very often am I unsure what species of fritillary is submitted but this is a tough one because the specimen is very flight worn and the photo is at an odd angle which doesn't light the underside very well. I've identified from my instinct that the spots are silvered on the underside of the hindwing, especially at the very edge, you can see a very distinct "comma" that is not so bold on the only other two species it might be, so there you have my rational for the ID. Not a common one in Jefferson County. Mike
