Callippe Fritillary
Speyeria callippe

Observation date: July 03, 2020
Submitted by: ezeemonee
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Medium Sized Fritillary. Feeding at Western Wallflowers on Tehachapi Mountain. Not sure if its Callippe or Coronis. Wasn't able to get an underwing pic. Sunny day in the 80’s F.
Status: Resident
Verified by: Ken Davenport
Verified date: July 06, 2020
Coordinator notes: Chris: To find coronis in that area, one would likely have to climb to the top of Tehachapi Mountain accessible by nearby trail from Oak Flat. However it may still be legally forbidden to trespass though the owner died. I do not know. Coronis rarely stray below, I have on occasion-Ken Davenport
