Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Kept trying to get a look at all the Painted ladies as sometimes there are imposters in the Group also kept seeing a sulphur that looked like a cloudless in flight. when landing on flowers it turned into southern Dogface, others see these even get photo's but this was a first for me in Ca. Towards the end of the day roosting time i scared up this butterfly, as soon as it tried to pretend it was a leaf the Id had been made! Also Great Purple hairstreak, Wrights Metalmark Common, Beckers white, Sleep orange some extremely fresh Pygmy blue Common other Blue's Painted ladies Things getting very Dry but rain right now in Valley Center 2 inches in just over a 2 hour time frame. If we get rain in Borrego Desert the season will continue with good chance to Break late date records for some species! Just add water! Only Saw one Snout, but got to this location very late in the afternoon with the time change this was a late sighting though still warm at this time mostly Pygmy Blues flying 3:25 pm.
