Observation notes: Along my garden boxes I have tall celosia, this butterfly with ornately edged wings was resting on a drying flower head, it didn’t move much when I brushed over the antennae. The temperature wasn’t too cool before the sun set, so he’s making the most of the good weather. I had never seen this side view before so not 100% sure it is variegated fritillary but I had lots of the caterpillars around my yard
