Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: While photographing monarchs , wood bees,& a red Admiral all feeding upon the nectar of my Lilac tree on a sunny but breezy afternoon around 2 pm we spotted this beauty of unfamiliarity to us. This particular, believed to be a moth species of Nessus Sphinx, approached in hummingbird style bobbing until finding the particular flower it desired to retrieve nectar from. It did not visit for long.
