Observation notes: Found yellow black and white caterpillars on a plant with little purple flowers. Was wondering what they are. I have successfully raised many monarchs and painted ladies so we brought these inside along with the host plant they were found in but I am not sure exactly what kind they are thanks!

Coordinator notes: It's hard to tell from the photograph - it's taken from a little too far away and isn't in focus - but I'm pretty sure by the pattern that this is C. convesipennis. There are excellent photographs of this caterpillar on Google Images.
