Observation notes: Feeding on an fallen apple underneath apple tree in park's orchard. Saw it (or one just like it?) in another part of park, near flower plantings that tend to attract butterflies (zinnias, e.g.). Butterfly was competing for the apple with a determined yellow-jacket, and succeeded in elbowing it away.
