Imperial moth
Eacles imperialis

Observation date: July 12, 2016
Submitted by: Danielle Flynn
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The Imperial Moth was discovered on the west side of the house, near the garage access door. It was in the same spot for over 8 hours. Fully extended for the entire time. We spotted ants coming up the brick on the house, and thought they were going to a leaf. It was a bright sunny day, and it's resting spot was in the shade in the am, and in the sun later afternoon/early evening.
