Observation notes: This big black and White Butterfly, almost 10 cm (4 inches) wingspan, flying close to the House and butinait of milkweed.

Coordinator notes: Excellent find! This individual is actually an example of a P. canadensis (Canadian Tiger Swallowtail) "fletcheri" phenotype - a rare, inherited variant coloration seen most commonly in male P. canadensis individuals. It has been even less frequently observed in the P. glaucus (Eastern Tiger Swallowtail) and P. rutulus (Western Tiger Swallowtail) populations. The vast majority of the "fletcheri" phenotype are males, however a few females have been found. -jmgesell
