Identification: Forewing gray to brown. Black triangle in middle of collar. Forewing lines sharp, yellowish; pm. line bends toward costa on vein M(1); black dots on veins just beyond it. Orbicular and reniform spots large, often touching. Hindwing dark grayish brown.
Wing Span: 2.8-3.5 cm.
Life History:
Flight: May-August.
Caterpillar Hosts: Wide variety, including dandelion, grasses, and willows.
