Make a Donation to Support this Project

Thank you for visiting Butterflies and Moths of North America. We hope that you find this site useful and informative. Please see the About page for more information about this project.

If you appreciate the information and services provided on this site, please consider supporting our work by making a financial contribution. Butterflies and Moths of North America (BAMONA) is an ambitious project that is labor-intensive, but limited funding from advertising barely covers expenses. We have no salaried staff. Thus, this website is made possible through a lot of hard work and dedication from unpaid staff and volunteers.

How will my contribution be used?
Your kind contribution will go directly to support our server costs and to offset development costs. In 2017, we launched a new responsive (mobile-friendly) version of BAMONA that better serves our submitters and coordinators. This development work takes time, and we are regular folks like you who are volunteering our time to make BAMONA better. In 2020-2022, we are working on another needed system upgrade.

How can I contribute to BAMONA?

You can contribute to BAMONA by sending money through PayPal.
PayPal Acceptance Mark

  1. Go to our PayPal link. This link lets you send money directly to us at Metalmark Web and Data.
  2. Choose an amount or a monthly contribution.
  3. Pay with PayPal or a credit card.

Please note that we do not have 501(c)(3) federal non-profit status, so your financial support is not tax-deductible. Applying for this status is costly and time-consuming; instead, we have chosen to use our limited resources to make improvements to the project. If you have any questions, or if you would rather send us a check, please let us know.

Thank you!
On behalf of the hundreds of coordinators and thousands of participants, we thank you very much! BAMONA would not exist without the dedication of people across North America, and your support allows us to make the BAMONA web site and data freely available for anyone to use.

Sincerely,
Kelly Lotts and Thomas Naberhaus
