Identification: Forewing is mottled red-brown with thin wavy dark brown and black lines and the stigma broken into two spots.
Wing Span: 3.0 - 4.0 cm
Life History:
Flight: Adults are nocturnal, usually fly in June and July
Caterpillar Hosts: Nettles (Urtica) and blueberry (Vaccinium) have been reported.
Adult Food:
Habitat: Open woodlands and edges.
Range: British Columbia to Newfoundland south to Massachusetts, west to Oregon.
