Observation notes: Warm, sunny, slightly breezy day. Feeding on the purple coneflowers in a residential flower bed among bumblebees, other butterflies, hummingbirds. My boys used to call these "Bird Plop Butterflies" since the silver spot looks kind of like that. I always have to smile when I see one.
