Observation notes: It was a bright sunny Spring morning in the Catskills. The moth was found on my outside deck floor. There are often moths on my deck from the night before who are attracted to the outside light but never saw one this flamboyant. I'm thinking that this moth is a rare color phase of some already known species

Coordinator notes: Most of these are a little more yellow than this, but the pattern is right for Rosy Maple Moth. The adults do not feed, but the caterpillars like a number of deciduous tree leaves.
