Observation notes: Butterfly observed sunning in reeds next to lake in Pattison State Park. Sunny, low 70s, little wind.

Coordinator notes: The species can vary greatly in size among different individuals. The pattern of your individual still is c/w a Great Spangled. Genus Boloria (Meadow Fritillary among others) has another distinctly different dorsal pattern. -jmgesell
