Submitted by: Lawry Sager
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I noticed this butterfly mid-afternoon flying about the yard, in Albuquerque's North Valley. It cast about the yard, finally settling on this cactus flower. This was the only yellow flower (Opuntia sp.) blooming in the yard that day. When it left, it flew around the yard again before leaving.

Coordinator notes: Lawry, this seems like the best match. Mimosa yellow is similar, but quite rare that far north. wing marks are consistent with summer form of Sleepy Orange.
