Date notes: Early date of at least 5 individuals in very close proximity under a hillside grove of large sassafras trees. Obviously suggests a brood rather than migrants.

Observation notes: 5 individuals in very close proximity under a hillside grove of large sassafras trees. All nectaring close or on the ground within 20 yds of each other and about ten yds from a grove of some of the largest sumac trees I can recall (20-30 ft). Early date and numbers suggest resident brood rather than migrants. Will submit photos of 4 out of the 5 different individuals I was able to obtain.
