Observation notes: Individual swallowtail taking nectar from multiple claret cup hedgehog cactus flowers, my first observation of this food source being used by this species. South-facing lowslope exposure of Tortugas Mountain, mixed sedimentary and volcanic rocks over light-colored soil. The afternoon was partly cloudy, hot, and windy.
