Observation notes: Two final instar caterpillars found 6/11/2022 on a smooth-leaved apparent hornbeam or birch sapling, (Did not seem to be an elm.) Matched online images of European "COMMA" (Polygonia c-album), with dorsal white patch, etc., rather than usual P. comma or P. interrogationis. At least one larva made chrysalis 6/16/2023. No subsequent record of adult. (Eclosed?)
