Observation notes: I have a small native plant garden, with other plants too. Something was eating my purple cone flower Echinacae. I had one last year that was eaten, one of but this year several were cut up and eaten. I could not see anything on them. Saw some scat or caterpillar droppings? But not enough for all the eaten leaves. Last night I when out after dark with a flash light and found two caterpillars. Then I could not ID them until I found your site. Chlosyne-theona is what I think they are Photos.
