Observation notes: Many were flying around the bog mat as well as the Carex stricta meadow. Photo of two mating in Carex lasiocarpa dominated floating peat mat.

Coordinator notes: So, this is obviously either H. maia or something in the H. nevadensis species complex. I wish I could see the HW clearly in these photos. But I believe you are likely to be correct, although range maps might suggest otherwise. I'm not sure how reliable these are with respect to H. maia and nevadensis, however; they're not dissimilar. If another coordinator disagrees, please let me know.
