Sleepy Orange
Abaeis nicippe

Observation date: July 29, 2019
Submitted by: k.d.stutzman
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I am very used to seeing many orange sulphurs in the area where I saw this butterfly, so at first glance that's what I thought this was. Once it landed on the coneflower, I was able to see that it did not have the typical dots on the wing that I associate with orange sulphurs. So sleepy orange is my next best guess. Thank you for your assistance, as always!
