Coordinator notes: This is a male of Colias philodice eriphyle, western subspecies/form to nominate C. p. philodice that occurs east of the Rockies. Although this looks closer to nominate C p. philodice. A few differences from C. alexandra is in this butterfly here, the black borders are wider and the yellow a bit "warmer" in shade. C. alexandra has a more clear sulfur/butter yellow and almost at times bordering on a green hint. Not C. alexandra but important for a record of C. philodice in Utah. Thank you! JAMES STEEN
