Range: A western species from British Columbia south to southern California; occurs in Idaho, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado and New Mexico. Ferguson mentions it is absent from Arizona and Montana.

Taxonomy Notes: Macaria quadrilinearia (Packard, 1873), formerly placed in the genus Itame in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist) and in the genus Speranza in Ferguson (2008), is returned to genus Macaria in Sihvonen & Skou (2015) following Scoble & Krüger (2002). This species includes as a synonym 6307 Speranza pallescens (Grossbeck, 1907) in Ferguson (2008).
