Identification: Hindwing in male has deep notch, absent in female. Forewing tan in both sexes, with dull reddish brown lines and shading. Female slightly darker, with sharper st. band.
Wing Span: 1.4-1.8 cm.
Life History:
Flight: June-July northward.
Caterpillar Hosts: Clover, dandelion.

Range: Maryland to northern Florida, west to Missouri and Texas.
