Family: Coleophoridae
Subfamily: Coleophorinae
Identification: Forewing white; costa and veins of outer half yellowish brown, becoming dark brown toward apex. Hindwing dark, gray with broad fringe.
Wing Span: 1-1.5 cm.
Life History:
Flight: May-August.
Caterpillar Hosts: Red oak and swamp white oak; also recorded on birch, cherry, hazelnut, hickory, and ironwood.

Habitat:
Range: Nova Scotia to South Carolina, west to Manitoba and Arkansas.
