Observation notes: when flying this butterfly looked so dark, then i could see the green when it landed. we went looking for Thorne's, once again we shook hundreds of cypress only a couple moths. very dry . a few blues and a bramble? thought we say a checker spot or fritillary at a lower elevation. so very dry, and maybe to early. very dangerous road and lots of problems along the border lately. very bad area at night we have been told to make sure and stay away. The young cypress are getting some cones, so there starting to mature. suffering from such dry conditions. some puddles high 78 clear sky very still in mid day ocean breeze in late after noon, and temps dropped quickly. lots of plants that i don't see very often and some i have never seen. still some blooms on well adapted natives. a few puddles from last weeks rain.
