Observation notes: *painful if touched* I discovered this by brushing against it. I'm glad I did because it's a very cool creature, but the sting was quite painful. It was on the underside of a thorny vine (perhaps Smilax / greenbrier). Weather = a pleasant, sunny, clear blue sky, dry Florida afternoon. I checked on it several hours later and it was in exactly the same location and position.
