Observation notes: several seen on roadside leading out to BLM/county campground. A rather large zerene, almost 4" wingspan.

Coordinator notes: Assigning subspecies here is problematic since most if not all conchyliatus populations are being viewed as synonyms of nominate zerene since Emmel, Emmel & Mattoon (1998) revised the identity of what nominate zerene is. Check the Butterflies of America website to see how they are treating this complex of subspecies or Andrew Warren's 2006 Butterflies of Oregon book.
