Isabella Tiger Moth or Banded Woolybear
Pyrrharctia isabella

Observation date: August 31, 2013
Submitted by: jen-tomkinson
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: They were found (seen three) under a few 2 by 4s laying on the ground with grass and weeds growing over the wood. It is under a huge rose of Sharon bush with the falling off flowers rotting on the ground. I think that is what they were there for. When I went for gloves they were gone but one. It seems as if the went into the dirt since one looks half underground. It is an overcast humid day in the low 80s.
