Observation date: August 13, 2012

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This was just a chrysalis a few days ago. Then my mother observed the moth come out of the chrysalis and wander a few inches above the empty chrysalis and start emitting the fuzzy tan stuff (eggs?) this photo was taken two days after the moth emerged. It does not seem to be moving much... although it is still alive.
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: This is a female Gypsy Moth. They cannot fly. Since it is both a pest and an invasive species, I suggest you scrub the egg mass off the side of the house.
