#2 Pelham's catalogue (2008) lists wyomingo as a subspecies of ridingsii. Scott in the species description of wyomingo (1998) describes wyomingo as flying later. This identification is entirely based on date. The BAMONA database currently lists wyomingo as a separate species, but being as Pelham (2008) is the most recent authority, this 'species' should be reduced to a 'subspecies' of ridingsii in the database. Not that any of this matters to the butterfly, or diminishes the fact that you took an excellent photo of a hard to photograph and unusual species - thank you!
