Observation notes: Female. Observed feeding on sap oozing from stump of post oak that had been cut weeks earlier. Many of these butterflies on this and other nearby stumps, some acting extremely aggressively and chasing off others. In a clearing in an Oak/Ash/Hackberry/Elm woods. Understory of Black Cherry, Possomhaw Holly, Rusty Blackhaw, American Beautyberry, and some hickory.
