Observation notes: I discovered and frequently visited a site underneath a palm tree in the small wooded area of John Mahon nature park in Gainesville Florida where a LOT of these caterpillars were hustling about. Last year at first I thought these were another related species that was almost identical until I sent the photos into an expert. The park had numerous specimens of this species all about the same week or two, until they disappeared and assumed entered an adult stage.
