Observation notes: Multiple individuals spotted near the Copper Creek Trail in the Denk Mountain area in places where residual moisture remains but transitional to more chaparral-style plant communities. Always landing on or near ground level. Very difficult to spot in some places, even with inner wing pattern displayed. The day was not particularly warm, but clear to filmy skies, temp in the mid 60's. One individual continued to patrol short distances along the trail. Another seemed to be content to hang near the damp ground. None were particularly agitated, with long periods of posing for the camera.
